Stockholm Voices & Lena Willemark in concert

We are thrilled to announce our latest collaboration. In the spring of 2024 we hade the great joy of doing a concert with the great Lena Willemark. Since then we have been working with Lena and her team to create something very special. And now it has come to fruition. In 2026 we will go on tour with Lena Willemark who is true icon of the Swedish jazz and folk scene.

Strings tremble, flames flare, flowers bloom – a new sonic landscape emerges.
Welcome to a warm, vibrant concert experience that celebrates the meeting point between Swedish jazz heritage and vocal artistry of the highest caliber.

This production revisits the rich musical landscape of 1960s Sweden – a time when jazz thrived in the folk parks, Nalen in Stockholm drew international stars, and the airwaves carried the sophisticated sounds of groups like Gals n’ Pals. We also pay homage to one of the era’s most beloved voices: Monica Zetterlund, whose singular blend of Swedish folk nuance and American jazz phrasing made her a national treasure.

Lena Willemark – vocalist, fiddler, and storyteller – is one of the most distinguished and genre-defying artists in the Nordic region. Her work bridges traditional Swedish folk music and contemporary jazz, earning her multiple Grammis awards and deep respect within both fields. Notably, she was a member of Gals n’ Pals from 1980 to 1986.

Joining her are the acclaimed vocal quartet Stockholm Voices – Gunilla Törnfeldt, Maria Winther, Anton Forsberg, and Jakob Sollevi – renowned for their intricate arrangements, dynamic improvisation, and seamless blend. Their performances consistently earn standing ovations and critical acclaim, positioning them among Sweden’s leading jazz vocal groups.

After the sold-out series Stockholm Voices’ Salonger at Stockholm Konserthus in spring 2024 – which marked the first artistic collaboration between Stockholm Voices and Lena Willemark –  this celebrated production is now going on tour.

The concert program features:
– Interpretations of Monica Zetterlund classics
– Highlights from the Gals n’ Pals repertoire
– Original arrangements that honor and renew the legacy of Swedish vocal jazz

This is a heartfelt and musically refined tribute to an iconic era – with today’s most respected voices at the helm.
